About Us

Started in 1999 in memory of Bob Chase, a Rhode Island Shrine Clown for 32 years, the Bob Chase Memorial Fund Inc., was founded by Leon Field (President), and grandfather to the late Joey Rodgers, Mr. Chase's widow, Mary Jane Chase (Secretary), and Cynthia Field (Treasurer).

The Bob Chase Memorial Fund Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit, tax exempt organization. Our major annual fund raiser's are, but are not limited to, the Joey Rodgers Charitable Golf Tournament, benefiting the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, and The Bob Chase Memorial Golf Tournament, benefiting the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospitals, and Burn Centers.

All profits from our events go to the causes for which they are intended. All members of the Executive Board work strictly on a voluntary basis.


Mission Statement

This organization is organized exclusively for charitable purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt under IRC 501(c)(3), or the corresponding section of any future tax code. The nature of the business or purposes to be conducted or promoted is to engage in any lawful act or activity for which corporations may be organized under the General Corporation Law of Connecticut. In addition, the main purpose of the Corporation is to engage in non-profit status and activities; to receive charitable contributions and pay them over to organizations that are described in IRC 501(c)(3) and exempt from taxation under section 501(a); and to solicit for, and dispense internal discretionary funds to, other for profit or non-profit funds, groups, foundations, agencies, partnerships, or corporations, with the sole ultimate goal of assisting children, from ages at birth to 18 calendar years of age, and have verifiable medical needs.
